Frequently Asked Questions

Do I have to pay to use OpenBook Education?

The OpenBook Education directory is completely free to browse and we hope you find service providers and products you can develop long standing relationships with in our pages. We do require users to create a free account in order to make enquiries about products or services because this helps us verify reviews.

OpenBook Education does charge a subscription fee for users wishing to add a listing to the site. Click the 'How It Works' button to view our subscription prices and add your product or service to our growing directory!

How do you vet services listed on your site?

OpenBook Education conducts a number of checks on Individuals, Companies and Charities that wish to list products and services on our website, including Disclosure and Barring Service checks, checking information held with Companies House and The Charity Commission. We also ask all subscribers to accept a Code of Conduct and Ethics before subscribing, and Terms and Conditions which can be viewed by clicking the link at the foot of this page. OpenBook Education and Child Services Ltd reserves the right to terminate subscriptions without reimbursement if they are informed that the code of conduct and ethics has not been adhered to. If you have any concerns about a product or service listed on our site, please contact us at [email protected].

How does your review process work?

Reviews are submitted by individuals or organisations that have made use of the service or product. Reviewers must confirm they will not benefit from the review and have no affiliation with the provider. Subscribers are unable to leave reviews for products or services they themselves list. Reviews are checked by admin before being published on the providers profile. We believe that allowing other users to leave reviews for the products and services they use helps to keep standards high and helps other users make more informed choices about the bookings they make on behalf of their young people. We do ask all subscribers who add listings to our site to accept a code of Conduct and Ethics which can be viewed here. If you have any concerns about a product or service listed on our site, you can let us know by emailing [email protected]. You can view our disclaimer at the footer of this page.

What if I’m not satisfied with the service I receive from a service provider after finding them on your website?

If you are unhappy with any products or services discovered through our directory, we recommend that you first contact the service provider to discuss the issue as they may be unaware that it exists. Giving them the opportunity to rectify the situation may result in a positive outcome for both parties. Leaving a review after your experience with them is complete will allow other users to make a more informed choice about the services and products they select to support their young person's specific needs.

Do you guarantee the products and services listed on your website?

OpenBook Education and Child Services Ltd does not guarantee any products or services, it is your responsibility to ensure that the service provider can provide proof of the necessary qualifications and DBS checks as well as any other information relevant to the safety of their services and products.
OpenBook Education and Child Services Ltd cannot be held responsible for any damage or loss caused by any inaccuracy on the openbookeducation.com directory, or on linked sites/pages.
